Rodney Neilson Post 912 proudly serves veterans, supports families, and strengthens Washington, Utah through The American Legion’s Four Pillars.

Our Mission Of Continued Service

We are a community of veterans dedicated to mutual support, patriotic service, and mentoring youth in Washington, Utah.

Programs

Post 912 offers assistance with VA benefits, community service opportunities, youth programs, patriotic education, and family support guided by The American Legion.

Meetings

Meetings are generally most 4th Thursdays of each month with a few exceptions due to support or hosting of events.

Meetings are held from 1800-1900 at the Washington City Library at 200 N. 300 E. in Washington City.

Our next formal meeting will be held on Thursday September 3rd due to the cancellation of the meeting from the power outage on 27 August.

September meeting is now the 3rd as mentioned above.

October meeting will be on Thursday October 29th beginning at 1800 at the Washington County Library.

November meeting will be replaced by the Veterans Walk on the 7th and Veterans Day events on the 11th. Refer to the events tab for more information regarding thise events.

December meeting will be replaced by our Post Christmas Pot Luck which will be for family members as well. This will be held on Thursday December 10th beginning at 1700. Location TBA.

Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, September 26, 2026
Noon – 5:00 with prizes being awarded at 5:30 PM at Highland Park Pavilion #1

This event is by invitation only and NOT for the general public at this time.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place chili’s. Sponsors for the prizes are: EtchCraft Precision Engraving, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Standard Restuarant Supply!

Sign up for your organization as early as possible as the number per organization is limited to only five, but everyone can come with their families and taste as many as they want and judge as many of the chili’s as they desire.

Best thing is it is FREE to enter your BEST chili. You just have to sign up. So come hungry and grab your tasting cups at the gate via cash or Venmo.

All proceeds go to Post 912 as we begin again to rebuild out Post and Auxiliary Unit!!

Ticket Sales are as follows: 5 Tickets for $10 (5 tasting cups) 10 Tickets for $20 (10 tasting cups)

Ceremony

This is the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and for Patriot Day this year, we will have a wonderful program as we will honor ouor past, celebrate our freedoms and inspire the future! We will do that through song, words and at the end of the program, we will be retiring 25 U.S flags. The public is welcome to assist and learn how this reverenced process is completed. Flags will be provided. Please do NOT bring your flag this year.

Members of the St George Academy JROTC will be assisting Post 912 American Legion as we present to you this inspiring program.

Remember to bring your own chairs, and bottled water.
